OnePlus 3- Finally a true 'Flagship Killer'.

After weeks of rumours and leaks, OnePlus 3 is now officially announced and available.True to its core of offering flagship specs at affordable prices, OnePlus has launched OnePlus 3 featuring flagship like specs at just $399 unlocked(or ₹27999). This time around the deal is even sweeter, the phone is available for direct purchase without the annoying invite system.

Design:
The design is a complete overhaul as the company has finally ditched its sandstone texture backing, replacing it with an all metallic unibody, which looks beautiful and well built but lacks originality as the design borrows from some HTC and Samsung phones that were released before it.
Its not a bad thing because imitation is the best form of flattery and even a company like Apple imitates.

Specs:
Specs wise, it's up there with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7 or the HTC 10 for the most part and even manages to outperform them in a few areas:

  • 5.5 inch 1080p 'Optic' Amoled Display
  • 2.2 Ghz Snapdragon 820 processor
  • 6gb RAM
  • 16mp rare camera with OIS coupled with 8mp Front Camera
  • 3000mAh battery with 'Dash' Charging ( 0% to 60% in 30 minutes)
  • Dual Sim LTE (Not on CDMA networks)
Bottomline:
Most of the problems that Oneplus had with their past smartphones have now been resolved
  • OnePlus has had time for bug fixes and performance improvement of Oxygen Os. Hence, it's now more stable and reliable than ever before.
  • The 16mp back camera looks solid on paper as it now comes with features like OIS, PDAF and EIS. Serious photographers will love the inclusion of manual mode and RAW image support.
  • OnePlus also has something in store for developers. They have released the device tree and kernel source on the launch day itself, which will enable faster development for OnePlus 3. Also, OnePlus won't void your warranty for rooting your OnePlus 3.
To conclude it, OnePlus 3 seems to be the best 'Practical' flashship smartphone that money can buy at this point of time.

Samsung has 'innovated' by going back in time and bringing back features like expandable storage along with IP68 dust and water resistance capability ala Samsung Galaxy S5.Bringing back the expandable storage options, might have brought smiles on the faces of the reviewers and fans alike who were quite disappointed by the lack of sd card support in their predecessors. The great thing is that Samsung has brought these utility features without compromising on th...

Google sides US and bans Huawei

Google has just released a statement that they will be banning Huawei's license to use Android immediately as it must compile to US Laws. This is a hugh blow to the Chinese smartphone maker which has already become the 3rd largest smartphone maker in the world, on the back of some solid smartphones.  Speaking to  Reuters , a Google spokesperson confirmed that “Google Play and the security protections from Google Play Protect will continue to function on existing Huawei devices.” This means while the current smartphones should receive updates, the future is surely uncertain for Huawei. The decision might leave Huawei to choose Open source version of Android, called AOSP for its devices which is devoid of any google sevices and which usually recieves the security updates much later than Android. Huawei might also contemplate launching its own OS, incase matters get worse.  It is very sad to see politics getting involved in tech industry. Other famed compa...
