Moto Z and Moto Z Force- Its time for some MotoMods

Moto Z

At Lenovo Techworld Event in San Francisco, Motorola unveiled the all new Moto Z and Moto Z Force smartphones that aim to change the smartphone industry. With full metal chassis body and a thickness of around 5.2mm, these devices are the thinnest flagship in the market right now. Taking a cue from LG and Google, these smartphones feature a modular design which makes use of several accessories called MotoMods, that snap onto the handset using magnets and draw their power/data through a 6Gbps multi-pin connection.

MotoMods

Motorola has announced that there will be three mods available at launch: a pico projector, a battery power pack and a jbl speaker. Moto likes to called this modular approach a "full blown gamechanger". One good thing about these mods is that, they can be easily snapped to the back of these smartphones without the need to restart them. The concept seems a little similar to a Lenovo smartphone launched in 2014, called Lenovo Vibe X2.

A thing to note is that both the smartphones will lack the 3.5mm audio jack like the leeco devices, so you’ll have to use the USB-C to 3.5mm jack included with the smartphone to plugin your conventional audio accessories.
Moto Z features a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with a fingerprint scanner on the front, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, and 4GB of RAM. The smartphones comes with either 32GB or 64GB of storage along with microSD card slot for expandability up to additional 2TB.
On the camera front, the Moto Z packs a 13MP rear camera with features like OIS,Laser Autofocus and a dual led flash. There is a 5MP front camera for selfies. All this is powered by a 2,600mAh battery and supports Turbo Charging that gives 8 hours of usage with just 15 minutes of charging.
The Moto Z Force is basically the same phones with improvements like a shatterproof display, a upgraded 21MP camera and a larger 3,500mAh battery.

Google sides US and bans Huawei

Google has just released a statement that they will be banning Huawei's license to use Android immediately as it must compile to US Laws. This is a hugh blow to the Chinese smartphone maker which has already become the 3rd largest smartphone maker in the world, on the back of some solid smartphones.  Speaking to  Reuters , a Google spokesperson confirmed that “Google Play and the security protections from Google Play Protect will continue to function on existing Huawei devices.” This means while the current smartphones should receive updates, the future is surely uncertain for Huawei. The decision might leave Huawei to choose Open source version of Android, called AOSP for its devices which is devoid of any google sevices and which usually recieves the security updates much later than Android. Huawei might also contemplate launching its own OS, incase matters get worse.  It is very sad to see politics getting involved in tech industry. Other famed compa...
